Woodrow Wilson
Woodrow Wilson ran for president in 191 and beat President William Howard Taft and Theodore Roosevelt. He ran for re-election in 1916. He promised to keep the U.S. in isolation and out of the war. He tried his best to not get involved in the war across the Pacific Ocean, but he wasn't able to keep his promise. His Slogan in the 1916 election was "He kept us out of the war!"
Woodrow Wilson was born in 1856 and died on 1924. He served in office from 1913 to 1921. He led America through World War 1, although he didn't ant to be a part of the battle in Europe. He was an advocate for World peace and democracy. Once he was in office, he took on an ambitious agenda of progressive reform that included the Federal Reserve and Federal Trade Commission. He declared war on Germany in 117, and he sent the 'doughboys' to Europe right away, and many soldiers were also trained in Georgia!
