The Battle of Gettysburg
The Confederate General had his sight set out for the small town of Gettysburg. The war went on from July 1-3, 1863. After a great victory, General Robert E. Lee his army marched and clashed with the Union army on July 1 commamded by General George G. Meade. The next day, the fighting got worse, and on July 3, General Lee ordered his troops of less than 15,000 to attack at the enemy's center of Cementary Ridge. That assult became known as "Picket's Charge."
