How did WW1 Start??
World War 1 started when an Serbian college student went to and Austrian Hungary parade to assassin to archduke and archduchess of Austria-Hungary. Then, when Austria declared war on Serbia, they each had their own back up allies to make the conflict even bigger. Serbia called on Russia to back them up. Germany was an alliance of Austria. Germany and Austria were the central powers, which made the other team the Allied powers. Soon, Germany began pushing the U.S. to join the war. Although the U.S. wanted to remain neutral, they ended up joining the war in 1917 with the allied powers. So then the conflict stretched out even further across the Atlantic Ocean.
