Chief McIntosh
William McIntosh was a Creek Chief. In 1825, Govenor Troup, his first cousin, He signed the Treaty of Indian Springs without consulting with the other members of his tribe, both Red Sticks, and White Sticks. That cost him a great price. The Creek disagreed with the Chief's decision, so they decided to punish him. They sent Macintosh's rival. Chief Menawa to kill him, along with the troop of about 30 more native americans. After the long march to his house, they decided to set fire to his house at daybreak. They allowed all the women and children to escape before they shot him down then scalped him. He was assassinated on April 30, 1825.
