Adolf Hitler
Adolf Hitler was born in Branau am Inn, Austria on April 20, 1899. He was the fourth of six children in his family. When he was 3 pears old, he moved from Austria to Germany. He often had many fights with his father. And when his brother Edmund died 1900, he became isolated and secluded. His father didn't approve or understand why Adolf preferred art to business. He was also a very patriotic person to Germany, and rejected Austria-Hungary. And as everyone knows, nationalism became a very important and motivational force in Hitler's life. In 1903, Adolf's father Alois suddenly died. Adolf's mother let Adolf drop out of school two years later, and Adolf moved to Vienna to study water-coloring. Adolf applied to Fine Arts two times, but he was rejected both times. He moved into a homeless shelter, where people believe that he began motivating his force on Anti-Semitism.
Adolf applied to the army when WW1 broke out. He was accepted in August 1914. He was then still a Austrian citizen. He was present in many significant battles, and he was wounded at Somme. He was decorated for bravery, receiving the Iron Cross First Class, and the Black Wound Badge. He became very bitter over the loss of war in Germany. He was reinforced in his patriotism, and he was became very shocked over German's surrender in 1918. He believed that Germany had been betrayed by civilian leaders and Marxists. He found the Treaty of Versailles degrading.
After WW1, he became part the German's Worker's Party (DAP) in 1919. He adopted a lot of Anti-Semitism , nationalist, and other opinions. And in 1921, he replaced Drexler as NSDAP party chairman. On November 8, 1923, he and the NA marched into a public meeting of 3,000 people, and he was arrested three days later. That was when he was able to write his new book that made his ideology and futuristic ideas gain the attention of Germans.
He first became popular from his new bestselling book Mein Kampf, which means "My Struggle". His idea about the new Germany became very appeasing to the Germans. Right around this time, Germany had just lost WW1. The Germans no longer trusted the German government, and they thought that they had given up in the war too quickly. When the Nazis came into power, many Germans were still scared or doubtful about this new idea and political ideology. But soon, the Nazis were able to brainwash all the Germans into thinking just like Hitler.
Adolf Hitler rose to power when the Great Depression came over Germany, and the Germans were willing to believe anything that got them out of this depression. In 1932, about 31% of Germans were unemployed! The Germans were very desperate. Hitler's group, the Nazis were gaining control over the German government, and on July 14, 1933, Hitler's Nazi party was declared the only legal political party in Germany.
What Hitler wanted was a "pure" Germany. He thought that all Gypsies or handicaps, homosexuals, or Jews were "unpure" to the country. Hitler mostly directed his insane wrath on Jews, because he said that it was their fault that Germany lost WW1. Many people believed what Hitler said. Hitler thought that only Aryans were the pure people for their country.
Adolf began to build up German's army, which went against the rules of the peace treaty that ended the WW1. Them Germany began to take over a conquer many big countries. Great Britain began to warn Germany not to go too far. But when Germany crossed the line, Great Britain declared war on Germany.
