Sherman's March to the Sea
This was the most destructive uproar against the civilians. It was led by General William T. Sherman. It started on November 15, 1864. Sheman and his men marched from Savannah to Atlanta and burned everything in their path. They only stole supplies that was needed for the troops. SHerman then marched to the Atlantic Ocean to prove to the South that they couldn't protect their contry from invaders. Sherman did this to Try and shorten the war, and for the war to loode civilain support. It ended on December 21, 1864 in the city of Savannah.
