Baptist and Methodist
The Revolutionary War destroyed the earlier religion in Georgia. Prior to the revolutionary War, most people had been part of the Church of England. But now that they had cut off ties with England; and were their own independent state, they could no longer be part of the Church of England. There were the Anglicans, who didn't support the king, and left joined the Methodist. They were led by John Wesley, and George Whitefield. The Baptist and the Methodist were both preached by the circuit riders, who went around to also build churches around the nation.
