The Anaconda Plan
The Anaconda Plan was made by the North to defeat the South. The plan was to suffocate the South by cutting off all trade and imprts. The North knew that the Southe needed to sent cotton to England and France to get War and battle supplies. So ironclad, or metal ships were made to keep a blockade around the southern boarder. They pressured the South by trapping and isolating them from anybody, or anything else.
