Spanish Threat
The Spanish were a big threat in GA and South Carolina were always in danger from Spain, since they were close by. Florida was territory for the Spanish. When GA was colonized, it served as a buffer zone between Florida and South Carolina. GA was forced to fight the Spanish so that they would be slowed down and England could send more armies to South Carolina. One example was the Battle of the Bloody March. GA succeeded and the Spain didn't try to invade again. As for the defense, GA succeeded.
